We're calluna

Nestled against the foothills 20-minutes north of Downtown Boulder is a stunning private property that we’ve been fortunate enough to plan several weddings at over the years. We first were introduced to Susan and Tim when we were planning Susan’s brother’s wedding on the property several years ago. Their property, Burning Sky Farm, allows you to feel like you’ve stepped back in time into a charming Tuscan countryside. As if that wasn’t special enough, from the front of the property you get sweeping views of the Flatirons to your left and Long’s Peak to your right – giving couples and their guests a front row seat to Colorado’s stunning beauty.

Since then, we’ve planned and designed several weddings there that have completely taken our breath away – including our very own Melanie Robertz! Take a peek below at some of our favorite moments!

The tree lined driveway greets guests as they arrive to this stunning, ivy covered property with perfectly manicured landscaping that will take your breath away.

After walking through the portico (where we typically like to offer guests a welcome cocktail – spritz anyone?) you are greeted with the even more stunning views – a beautiful pool, the perfect spot for cocktail hour, and of course, the ceremony dock.

Before guests arrive – if you choose to do a first look – this area also provides the perfect spot for your first look and bridal portraits.

There are two ceremony locations – the wedding dock and then a secluded area on the opposite side of the lake – nestled into decades old trees.

After the ceremony, the cocktail hour, which we typically center around the pool in the back, guests can explore the property, take photos and enjoy the scenery.

Our favorite part of this property, is that dinner happens al fresco. It truly gives couples and their friends and family a chance to sit down, take pause, share stories and connect over food. It feels different from other wedding receptions, our couples choose to focus on farm-to-table meals, some with a little Tuscan flair. It’s a special time of the day and one of our favorite parts of the wedding day.

If you end up with a smaller guest count – you can incorporate your dance floor and reception space in the outdoor space as well! For guest counts over 75, we suggest having your dinner outside and then moving indoors to the reception barn for a night of dancing (and maybe even late-night gelato!)

Once guests head inside the barn – it’s time to start the party. Whether you want a DJ or a full 11-piece band – there is room for both inside this 40′ x 40′ space that leaves you a blank canvas for designing and transforming into exactly what fits each couples style and personality.
